Mr and Mrs Orange Bear cartoon by Gloria Poole

Orange-bear-couple-cartoon-by-Gloria Poole; watercolors; 2013
Orange-bear-couple-cartoon-by-Gloria Poole; watercolors; 2013
This is "Orange Bear couple" that is part of the story of the Lady Bug Picnic. So, this as if turning the page if you are reading this story on web to your children. To continue the story:

The Twin Mushroom Towers  of the Fantasy Forest are where the up-coming Lady Bug Picnic is to take place, and it has a hostel that has a family room for out of town company. Mr and Mrs. Orange Bear are owners of the  "Welcome Home" hostel. As Lady Octavia Bug approaches to see what it's accommodations look like, and how much it costs, she finds Mr and Mrs Orange Bear sitting on the grassy knoll. "Well, I do declare" says Lady Octavia Bug, " I didn't expect to find such a warm welcome". Mrs. Orange Bear said, " well, we knew you were coming because you texted us, and we wanted to make sure you found us.".  Lady Octavia was overjoyed, because the hostel's family suite  was spacious, airy, comfortable, peaceful AND affordable.  "Why, to think, she thought to herself, " that any guests coming to the picnic from far away can stay here and be comfortable, and not break their budget."
"Mr and Mrs Bear, I am so happy to know about this place. The Twin Mushrooms pavilion is already scheduled for that day, but I am a bit worried if it should pour down rain and our guests be in a tizzy. Are reservations required?", she asks.  Mr. Orange Bear replied, "we take reservations for those who know their itinerary, but reservations are not required. If you or your guests get in a pickle, just call on your way here. We'll make room if we have too. "
"Oh, thank you very much, " Lady Octavia beamed as she spoke the words. "Here is my card, if you need to get in touch with me. We have sent invitations to Fuschia Rabbit, Red Cap Monkey, Blue Kangaroo whose name by the way is Mama Kanga and her baby, and well, of course, we did not invite that horrible Giant Chameleon, or Lone Wolf. We cannot let them amongst our people--why it's horrifying to think what would happen! We will run from the Twin Mushroom Pavilion to the safety of your hostel if we get so much as a whiff of them lurking near by.  And oh, almost forgot, we Lady Bugs also invited Happy Reindeer who RSVP'd quickly and said he "would be there with his boots on", and we are delighted, because they are so busy this time of year. delivering all those Christmas gifts. We couldn't not invite him, because he lives in our meadow, and we didn't want to hurt his feelings. We Lady Bugs thought he would scoff at the idea, with Christmas only 19 days away, but he sent his photo of his happy dance in his boots, when he got his invitation in the U S mail.
"Now, now, dear" said Mrs Orange Bear, "don't get yourself so worked up. I am sure that the Twin Mushroom Pavilion is quite safe. We do business here on its grounds, 24/ 7. " "But," added Mr, Orange Bear quickly, " we will certainly provide you a safe refuge if those characters should show up at your picnic; not to worry".
Lady Octavia Bug asked, 'would you like me to sign your visitor's book?  I would be more than happy to do that. " "Why, yes, that would be great, because it helps us build our reputation too. How kind of you to offer, " replies Mrs. Orange Bear, " follow me to the alcove." And so they walk the short distance to the hostel, and enter the door. There in the cozy alcove is the Visitor's Log Book and Lady Octavia Bug signs her name :

"I'll be going now, Perhaps we shall see you soon, but if not, then there will be more opportunities. I invite over night  guests  for the holidays often and sometimes, they prefer European pleasantries instead of the meadow. I just reassure myself that it is not personal. Some "people" just don't like grass and flowers and sunshine, " said Lady Octavia. And so she leaves the Twin Mushroom pavilion's hostel and waves good-bye to Mr and Mrs. Bear.

The Lady Bugs Plan picnic at Fantasy Forest cartoon by Gloria Poole

Since most of the guests didn't make it to the first Lady Bug picnic, the Lady Bugs decided to try again. So they're sending invitations as follows. Then scroll down to see the place of the next picnic.

These three photos tell another part of the story of the Lady bug Picnic:

Since Fuschia Rabbit, Red Cap Monkey, Blue Kangaroo and baby didn't get to the first picnic the Lady Bugs had, and since the giant lizard did, the Lady Bugs decided to schedule another picnic in a safer place than The Meadow. They put their heads together and came up with the idea that probably the Fantasy Forest would appeal more to Red Cap Monkey, Fuschia Rabbit and Blue Kangaroo, so they scheduled the Twin Mushrooms pavilion for the day. Then they hand wrote invitations, because hand-written invitations are waaaaaaaaay better than ordinary typed ones and are more fitting and proper etiquette. So they sent the invitations by U S mail and they put one on the web for those whose addresses they didn't know. They included a set of directions with it instead of a map, even though the invitation said "map included". They reasoned that anyone who couldn't read would probably feel uncomfortable at their picnic anyway, so written instructions were more informative. And they sent along a photo of Fantasy Forest to help them recognize it,  just in case some weren't local or had never spent any time in the forest.  They even told them whom to R.S.V.P too. R.S.V.P. means respondere vous plait [ unsure of correct spelling] in French which means in English please respond whether or not you plan to attend. They wrote that Lady Octavia Bug could be called if one of the guests got lost on the way to Fantasy Forest.

"Now, then..." thought the Lady Bugs. "We have planned carefully. The Twin Mushrooms will be a much safer place for a picnic than the open meadow. And we have invited properly those we want to attend, and have sent directions. Now, then we must begin to plan the menu. "

Stay tuned for the next page of the story of Lady Bug Picnic [made up as I go and with cartoon illustrations]. To follow the story, you may need to scroll back to first post on this blog and read coming forward. There are some random cartoons that are unrelated to the story, just for fun.

I Gloria Poole am adding two more cartoons here [this is one of my blogs] that I created in past week.  Since I am praying this will be a very safe site for small children to see regularly, I am planning to add to it regularly.  When I say I am praying it will be safe, I mean that what I put on it myself is safe, moral, and free of viruses as best I could certify that depending upon my isp account's measures in place.  This is not a shared apartment nor a shared blog, nor a shared isp acct, nor a shared internet account. But I have learned after ten years of having websites and blogs that there is a shadow internet that people are not aware of it, til millions of people's info was compromised by cyber-hacker/criminals.  Since I am one of those people, whose info has been compromised often by using the internet, I know what I write about.

These cartoons are simple stories. The top one is a page in the Lady bug picnic story on this blog. So if you haven't read the 'pages' of it, scroll to first entry and read coming forward. I am trying to create an online [e-book for small children] that the mother or daddy could sit down and scroll through post entries to the read the entire story to the child. Also, I have created another cartoon sketch that it much more developed and that I painted and named "Raymond Reindeer" which I think I posted to another blog of mine or maybe to earlier posts on this one. They are totally different cartoons created in different years but both created by me.

Story for page of Lady bug picnic:
The  blue mama kangaroo with her baby in her pouch is also headed to the Lady bug picnic. Of course, the lady bugs were all excited to hear about the new baby kangaroo, and they sent a special invitation to mama kangaroo and wrote in fine and fancy calligraphy PLEASE bring baby too,  fearing mama kanga might leave the wee one home with dad. So, the mama kangaroo was thrilled! After all, she had been cooped up in that house with that new baby for a while now, and having a reason to go somewhere was good news to her. She was bounding along on those gigantic legs of hers, and lo and behold, she saw beside the path dancing flowers! They were holding hands and forming a 'can-can' line and singing happily. Well, she was astonished. But what was even more astonishing was she saw her own wee one give an A-OK signal to the flowers. Well, mama kangaroo just stopped in her tracks to witness her own baby taking notice of the surroundings and responding to it. "This is something to write in my baby book for sure--aw, shucks, why didn't I bring my cell phone with the camera?',  she thought to herself. [ next page not posted yet--stay tuned].

Lady Bug Picnic story cartoon by Gloria Poole

Here are three more cartoons for world to see.
The first one I made with a computer graphics program or app.
I was trying to create solar system revolving around the sun,
and the green orb is the planet earth.
The continuation of Lady bug picnic cartoon story online is is the third cartoon
 so scroll to it, please.

Cartoon drawn by Gloria Poole in yr 1995 in Atlanta, GA & it's named "judo"

Cartoon drawn by Gloria Poole in yr 1995 in Atlanta, GA & it's named "judo"
The second cartoon is a cartoon to make you laugh. It's a woman learning judo.
I was required to take judo for self defense when I was a student nurse [many years ago] .
I am a Registered Nurse, licensed in Missouri but can't work in it except to write on blogs
[because of trauma on two different events of concussions, fractures, with the sequelae of that].
The YA on it is because the Army Major that taught me and the entire class of student nurses
[in Atlanta GA ] said for judo you have to shout first to throw the attacker off guard.
I have only used judo once in my life, to save my own life
[in Colorado during those horrible years I lived there. ]

cartoon-created by Gloria Poole; Oct 2013; and it is named "redcap monkey"
Cartoon-created by Gloria Poole; Oct 2013; and it is named "redcap monkey"

The third one is a cartoon that I intended to be a page
in the lady bug picnic story.  So to continue the story:
the red cap monkey was invited to the lady bug picnic,
which is why he is wearing his best cap.
And he was ambling along on all fours as monkeys do,
and the hot sun was beaming on his behind.
And well, wearing that fur coat and that cap, he was getting too hot.
So he has a frownie face.  And then he just stopped a minute;
and had a talk with himself
and he said : "well, it's just a bunch of ole lady bugs.
They probably won't notice if I don't show up. "
And then he got to the jungle edge and he decided that he would just miss
the tea party and head to the jungle where it is nice and cool
and he could play in the trees, and that is what he did.
And he missed the tea party /picnic altogether.

Cartoon Characters drawn by Gloria Poole

These four cartoons are some I drew years ago, put up for safe keeping then  I found them again when I was photographing my ethnic series of paintings and sketches. I lived in Atlanta, Ga metro  &  city  intermittently for total of 11 yrs. I worked as RN there [yr 1995] but I drew and sketched then as I do now but not as often. I was also born in the state of Georgia, and I am white, single, Christian, woman.

I created this in an effort to teach myself cartooning. They are acrylics on paper. I didn't give them a name at the time. I thought others might get a laugh from them. It's a way of doing something for small children to see online [but also for anyone.].

Four cartoons drawn by gloriapoole previously of Atlanta, GA

I am adding three of the cartoons I drew in red inks or pencil and one that I drew then painted. I have several more to add over time. I was recently rephotographing much of the art I have created since 1992, beginning in Atlanta, GA, continuing to all places I have lived and now continuing in Missouri where I now live. I am white, single [divorced twice]  Christian, woman, who was born in the state of Georgia. Scroll back through archives to see some of the cartoons I created in Missouri.
Thanks.

Tree frog cartoon by Gloria Poole /gloriapoole /Gloria; yr 2013 ; acrylics

Here are two more cartoons to add to the Lady Bug Picnic story. The elephant is trying to get the attention of the lizard at the picnic and the fuschia rabbit . And the tree frog is just plain lost,  up a tree literally.  The tree started as a small tropical plant on compost.  So the tiny man with binoculars is looking for him, to guide him to the lady bug picnic. But alas! it's a good thing the tree frog can't find his way to the picnic because tree frogs would make the lady bugs the lunch. And the pink star [named after pink star diamond in the news that was gorgeous], fell out of the sky just in time to attend the Lady Bug Picnic. To see Lady bug picnic first sketch scroll through archives on this blog.
These sketches are on my movable drawing board, and obviously the tree frog sketch is intended to be surreal.  Both sketches are acrylic paints after drawing them first with pencil. Copyright. Fuschia Rabbit hurries to Lady bug Picnic [cartoon] by Gloria Poole

Fuschia Rabbit Hurrying to Tea party; cartoon by Gloria Poole
This cartoon is a sketch only in sketch book that I drew as another part of the story about the Ladybug picnic. This is fuschia rabbit hurrying to the tea party. She's hurrying because she's late and fears she will miss the tea party altogether. She's wearing her best fascinator and of course, her bright white tail. She's got that sort of turned down lip, because well, she so much wanted the lady bugs to like her and to come to her carrot patch party later on in the year.

Also, I am updating my blogs bit by bit. I did update my Picasa album today that has much of my art I created on it. You can see it at:

Cartoon: Horatio Hound

Horatio Hound cartoon by Gloria Poole in yr 2012; acrylics
"Horatio Hound" cartoon by Gloria Poole created for the letter H; yr 2012

This is the cartoon I created in 2012 for the letter H to create a one of a kind alphabet book for my two youngest grandchildren who were one and four at the time.  I also created another cartoon, photographed it with my iPhone,  emailed it to myself four times from my iPhone and it was stolen in transit four times by criminals who broke into my iPhone. You can and should read more about that on my blog post for today at: gloriapoole.blogspot.com.  So, I have to use a different method to photograph my art I create since cyber-criminals break into my iPhone regularly. But, in time, I will add that cartoon here also, or on my other cartoon site at: https://sites.google.com/site/poolegloria.

Trying to stop criminals from breaking into my computers and telephones has become an almost full-time effort for me. I do not have a boss--" work"  [create art] only for myself and never had a boss in art ever.  I ALWAYS created my own art, mostly for fun.

I did have hospitals as bosses when I worked in nursing. I am still a Registered Nurse, licensed in Missouri. Criminals from the pervert population and from those who kill preborn humans break into my computers often, trying to prevent me writing my opinions of their evil ways. But I am not quitting protesting evil.

Time to Unwind Cartoon by Gloria Poole

Cartoon I created & named "time to unwind"; copyright; Gloria Poole/gloriapoole

This is another cartoon I created a few days ago, and named it "Time to unwind" .  Years ago, I had  a desk job reviewing medical records, and it was very exhausting to me to sit for hours at the time.; but it was the most intensive learning time of that professional life of mine.  So, I created this cartoon as a reminder to all people who have desk jobs to get up, walk about intermittently, for your health's sake.  This is acrylics on paper 14 x 17.

Hope you like this. But in reality, I create art just for fun most of the time. IF it ever makes any money for me, that would be great too.  Also, fyi, most of the art I created in my life is realistic genre and in oils on canvas if a painting; but I sketch and draw with all artists' mediums.

Copyright. Gloria Poole ; Missouri. I am also known on web as Gloria; gloriapoole; gpoole817; gloria0817; Ms. Gloria. "Lady bug picnic" cartoon by Gloria Poole

"lady Bug Picnic cartoon" by Gloria Poole of Missouri
"Lady Bug Picnic" sketch/cartoon by Gloria Poole of Missouri

This sketch is one I created yesterday when I was thinking about the childhood song "Lady bug picnic" . The lizard happens upon the lady bugs setting out their tea party picnic, and screeches to a halt.  The lizard scares the sea gull and it takes flight, and the lady bugs freeze in their tracks [because lizards eat lady bugs] .  I created this specifically for my 2 yr old grandson [Elijah]  and my other grandchildren various ages  but minors also, but he would like it the most. I am adding it here to share it, but please do not copy it.  It is acrylic paint on paper size 14x17 .

Also, I am adding another cartoon to bring this up to speed. I also have another site with a few cartoons on it but I wanted this specifically to add cartoons too, so the title reflects that.

Here are other cartoons I created that I do not think I posted to public sites yet. The one below I created with a graphics program and named it "rolly walker".

Generally speaking the art I create most is realistic and in the fine art category. I cartoon occasionally and I created about 30-40 cartoons for an alphabet book for my grandchildren Elijah and Galatea.  I also created my very first sketch in a genre called poster art just yesterday and added it to my blog at: http://artist-gloriapoole.blogspot.com.

I Gloria Poole own all rights to the art I create, whether in any form, with any tool, on any display or surface, with any medium, whether or not I photograph it and whether or not I add it to any public display site or blog.  I am also known on the web as Gloria in cursive on my actual paintings, sketches, drawings, cartoons, poster art; and also as gloriapoole; gpoole817; gloria0817; gloria.poole; Ms.Gloria. Poole; gloria_poole; gloria-poole; Poole.Gloria; artist-gloriapoole; gloriapoole-paintings; gloriapoole1749;gloriapoole0817; onlineducatorglo.
I have several user ID's but my real name is Gloria Poole and I was born in GA and am a white, single, Christian, prolife Registered Nurse, artist, poet, writer, blogger, photographer and I work for myself trying to build up artist's reputation enough to sell art at some point in time. Part of the reason why I have so many is because since yr 2007 many of my emails were stolen often and I would have to create a different one. Now, some of those have returned to me so I keep them.  And also to "capture" the use of my real born name as much as possible.
Also, one more thing. The title of this blog in script is computer generated. It is not my actual handwriting though I do handwrite often. I just liked it as a title form. Also, because I want this site to be interesting to very young children just learning the alphabet I am making larger, bolder letters for them, because if font is too small and they don't know their letters very well, it is confusing to them.
